Beijing Forbidden City-The Imperial Garden

Imperial GardenThe Imperial Garden is in the north end of Inner Court of the Forbidden City. It was started to be constructed in 1417, and completed three years later. It is a place for emperor and concubines to take a rest or enjoy entertainment after dinner or tea. It covers an area of 12,015 square meters, with a total of 20 plus buildings.
The Imperial Garden is well-known for ancient trees & rare flowers, exquisite pavilions, rugged and fantastic stones, cobbled road, etc. The royal family also uses the garden for other functions such as sacrifice, fit-keeping, book collection, and reading.
In terms of construction style, the Imperial Garden is symmetrical but not stiff, unfolding but not scattered. The garden boasts of both the noble and decent royal sentiment, and the tranquil garden feeling.
