Beijing Forbidden City-Hall of Clocks

Hall of Clocks is located in the Fengxian Dian (Hall of Ancestral Worship). The Hall has an area of 2,208 square meters, displaying more than 200 clocks manufactured home and abroad in the 18th century.
China’s clocks were mostly manufactured at that time by the imperial forging office, and plants in Guangzhou and Suzhou. Foreign clocks in the Hall were mostly from the UK. A small portion of clocks were from France, Germany, US, Switzerland, and Japan. Though they have undergone a history of more than two centuries, they are still operating well.
These clocks have various styles, top-notch technologies, and elegant artistic value. These clocks demonstrate outstanding intelligence and creativeness. The clock collection in the Forbidden City represents the highest achievement of clock development in the 18th-19th century.
